2025 Home Search

  • 1.   Home Style: We are searching for homes that are tour ready that are neat, polished, and free of clutter. The homeowner should be committed to ensuring that every room on display is tidy and inviting. It's also important that the home reflects its best version, particularly after renovations or updates.

    2.   Interior Access: While we prefer full access to the home, it’s understood that some areas or even entire floors might be closed off.

    3.   Gardens & Outdoor Spaces: For homes with gardens or landscaped grounds featured, these need to be equally "Tour Ready." Gardens should be well-established, with paths, lawns, and plantings that are easy to navigate and showcase the homeowner’s efforts in creating a beautiful, welcoming outdoor space.

    4.   Proximity to Other Homes: A clustered selection of homes is ideal, especially for maximizing the convenience of tour-goers. If the homes are near one another, guests will be able to explore more homes in less time, creating a smoother experience overall.

  • You will want your home shine for when visitors arrive, but we will handle everything else. You don't even need to be at home!

    • Pre-Tour Photos:
The committee will schedule a time to take both interior and exterior photos of the home. Homeowners should aim to have their property looking its best for these photos.

    • Home History and Features Meeting:
A meeting will be scheduled with the homeowner to discuss the home’s history, special features, and anything unique about the architecture or design. This is a chance to share stories, details, or interesting facts about the home that will enrich the docent notes and help create a more engaging experience for the visitors.

    • Docent Notes and Publicity:
The information gathered during the meeting will be used to write docent notes, which are key in educating tour-goers about the home's history and features. It’s like a highlight reel.

    • House Rules for Volunteers & Patrons:
A meeting with the homeowner will also establish clear "house rules" that help guide the volunteers and the visitors. These rules ensure the safety and comfort of everyone involved.

  • Our hosts receive free tickets to the Tour and other special gifts as our way of thanking you for participating!
